Diabetes is a leading cause of adult blindness, lower-limb amputation, kidney disease and nerve damage. Two-thirds of people with diabetes die from a heart attack or stroke.
Donovan started his foundation so that he could help create awareness about diabetes and its devastating effects.
A portion of the donations made to the Donovan McNabb Foundation will be used to fight diabetes through research and awareness programs sponsored by the American Diabetes Association. For information about diabetes, visit www.diabetes.org or call 1.800.diabetes.
Contributions received from sponsors may be used to support other programs such as the American Diabetes Association and Camps for Kids with Diabetes.
